How Do I Cite a Poem

There are no specific guidelines in MLA to cite a poem. Instead, cite the poem in the context in which you found it. For example, if you are citing a poem from a book, use the chapter of a book form to correctly cite the poem.

Example:

Dickinson, Emily. “Ocean Winds.” Book of Poems. Ed. John Barlycorn. New York: Random House, 1999. 34-35. Print.
