Export to EasyBib:

EasyBib and ResearchReady featured in eContent Quarterly June 2013 Issue

June was an exciting month for EasyBib! We attended the 2013 ISTE and ALA conferences, scheduled our Summer PD Series, our App reached 200,000 downloads, and our “Export to EasyBib” option was added to ProQuest.

We ended the month with a feature in eContent Quarterly, a publication of the American Library Association.

In the issue, co-CEO and co-founder Neal Taparia tells his story of how EasyBib began as an idea in high school and was turned into a reality in “How Bibliographies Inspired Innovation: From EasyBib to ResearchReady.”

After looking into trends in the information sciences and library community, the EasyBib team came to the conclusion that there should be a tool that promotes “research readiness” – and ResearchReady was born! Through ResearchReady we hope to enable librarians to teach their students research skills using an information-literacy curriculum filled with fun, interactive content.

Additionally, there were two reviews of our information literacy tool, ResearchReady, both from a community college and K-12 perspective.

The first review of ResearchReady in eContent Quarterly is by Catawba Valley Community College Reference Librarian, Ari Sigal. Ari said that “Using ResearchReady allows students to proceed at their own pace and gain a more thorough knowledge of research than we can present ‘live,’ or even than what could be gained by using tutorials produced by college and university libraries and routinely posted to YouTube.”

The second review is from a district librarian-teacher perspective by blogger Shannon McClintock Miller from Van Meter School District in Iowa. As an avid EasyBib fan, Shannon was excited to learn that ResearchReady was launching. Interested in what the new product was, she tested it out with students to see what the product offered.

Shannon states that “Teacher-librarians, in particular, need innovative tools such as [ResearchReady] to help them assist with bringing knowledge and information-literacy skills to the students they serve.”

One of her students said that, “If I worked through all of the courses that ResearchReady has set up, I would definitely feel like I was ready for college and the real world. I want to be a teacher, so this tool will help me teach too.”

Now that’s what we love to hear! Thank you Ari and Shannon for the great reviews!
