As with any assignment that involves the written word, make sure you:

  • Proofread your slides and make sure everything that needs to be covered is there
  • Check for spelling or grammatical errors
  • Have a friend or classmate review the text, too

Rehearse the presentation: Ideally, practice in front of other people, but even running through it on your own, out loud, can help prepare you for the real thing.

Keep a back-up! Store a copy of the presentation in a separate place. Save it in the cloud somewhere, e-mail it to yourself, or save it on a USB flash drive. Hopefully you won’t need it, but if the Internet goes out or you lose one of your flash drives, having a second copy elsewhere will be a lifesaver when you need it.
